Well it depends on how the furniture color matches its all got to match in my book,and yes brown is a nice my sister painted hers sky blue last month and it looks great.

Feng shui says that you should use skin tones for "the best flow of energy for restorative sleep, as well as sexual healing." These colors include all shades of brown between white and chocolate. Color therapy also suggests using cool colors for a good night's sleep.

I would personally suggest going for a medium brown color (around carmel) and using a cool light green for your curtains,bedspread, etc.

I would advise against doing an accent wall. They don't really seem to be "in" as far as interior decorating goes and a nice solid color tends to look more classy and collect.
